DataPortal is a software solution that enables
the instant and effortless exchange of business
data over the Web, without development.

DataPortal exploits the fact that relational database data serves
as a natural “lingua franca” for business data communication.
When business systems need to share business data in database
form, DataPortal can provide an instant communication channel -
a form of instant data messaging. With DataPortal, business units
within and across the enterprise can instantly and effortlessly share
their data without concern for the particular database vendors,
platforms or operating systems involved.

DataPortal has served as part of a major manufacturer’s supply chain.
The manufacturer provides dynamic order information by publishing
the existing, unaltered database to a DataPortal server, where
suppliers from all over the world use the DataPortal client to transfer
the published data directly into their own business process
infrastructure without development effort.

Currently, no other solution can transfer business data securely,
instantly, and without development, over the Web with
“point-and-click” ease of use. DataPortal copies a snapshot of a
published database (structure and data) to a new location directed
by a DataPortal client.

The published data is integrated directly into the client’s own
business system. There is no need for conversion to other formats,
such as XML. It is a more efficient alternative to EDI and works
across all supported databases, platforms and operating systems.
